Earth Day
Sometimes playing in the dirt is just plain fun. So it's not surprising that youngsters at RHS' Little Paws program had smiles on their faces as they ran their hands through dark, rich dirt while making terrarium style planters on Earth Day. Students also used rock, sand, recycled soda and juice bottles and sunflower seeds to make the planters in a group before moving individual activities. The 2 year olds created discovery bottles with recycled water bottles and pretty trinkets and appeared mesmerized by shaking their new toys.
The big kids learned the hourglass took more time than they expected to build with the three year olds and VPK appeared to enjoy creating their bird feeders. Each child took home a Sweet 100 tomato plant and an Earth Day coloring book as a reminder of the day.
